Quotes

Hello, friends. I am writing to you to share the quotes I like to have around, so I can read them if I'm feeling down or if I'm bored. I hope you enjoy them:

  1. "Be yourself, everyone else is already taken" -Oscar Wilde
I'm sure you've all read this before, but I feel like this is something to have in mind all the time. Sometimes, we all feel like we can't do anything right and that's ok. It's okay to fail every once in a while, no one is perfect, so let's be ourselves, because that's what we're best at. You may not be aware of it, but every step you take makes a difference and no one else can do that.

     2.  "Try. Fail. Try again. Fail better" -Samuel Beckett

Again, no one's perfect. No one was born the way they are right now(unless they've just been born). Our way through learning is to fail and it may be hard sometimes to overcome the feeling that we can never make it, but eventually, we will and the only thing we can do is keep trying. Which leads me to the next quote:

    3.  "It never gets easier, you just get better"

What can I say about this that I hadn't already said, really? I mean, it speaks for itself. It gets easier every time you try, you just have to keep trying until it becomes natural. This is something really important that I like to have in mind every time I'm struggling. I mean, I've come so far, I can do much, much more.

    4.  "We are all broken, that's how the light gets in" - Ernest Hemingway

For me, this quote means a lot and I feel like it's so poetic. When I am feeling down, it feels like the world is falling over me and I feel lonely and broken, but everyone is, it's a part of life, it's a part of existence and it's necessary and I'm not alone on this, no one is. Life is the thing we all share.

    5.  "Among other things, you'll find that you're not the first person who was ever confused and frightened and even sickened by human behavior. You're by no means alone on that score, you'll be exited to know. Many, many men have been as troubled morally and spiritually as you are right now. Happily, some of them kept records of their troubles. Just as some day, if you have something to offer, someone will learn something from you. It's a beautiful reciprocal arrangement. And it isn't education. It's history. It's poetry" -J.D. Salinger

I'm not even gonna say anything about this, because it would ruin it. This is, by far, one of my favorite quotes from one of my (if not my top) favorite books. I mean, it's just perfect.

I could go on and on with this, because I have a notebook full of them, but I feel like these are the most important for me so I wanted to share them. I hope you enjoy them just as much as I do.
One last quote:
"Maybe our favorite quotations say more about us than about the stories and people we're quoting" -John Green
Feel free to post your opinion about them in a comment or leave down below your favorite quotes.

Thank you for reading this. Sincerely yours,
Nerea.
